Nikki Roberts facilitates CPD approved “I AM” Parental Empowerment face to face courses to promote mental, emotional, physical and spiritual resilience.
As a mother of 4 children (Conor, Kieran and twins Lily & Daisy) Nikki understands first-hand the need for personal wellness and self-care in order to parent effectively. She is the author of a Parents book which is useful on its own or as part of the programme.
The “I AM” Integrating Art & Mindfulness Online Course is a Government approved CPD course. It aims to offer practical tools and techniques to promote resilience and wellbeing through meditative, mindfulness and creative means. The participant will learn how to self-soothe, explore the importance of self-care and improve communication skills through NLP (neurolinguistic programming) and will receive a certification of participation upon completion of the course.
"Welcome to the "I AM" program. This course was created for teachers to support them both personally and professionally. Due to the unprecedented resulting circumstances of COVID-19 virus, many parents and guardians are now finding themselves adopting the role of the classroom teacher, within a 'home schooling' setting. It is hoped that by extending this course to the general public, it will introduce them to coping and self soothing mechanisms which they can use for not only the children in their care, but for themselves and extended family. IT MUST BE NOTED THAT THE FORUMS AND INTERACTIVE ASSIGNMENTS ARE NOT OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. However, all participants are welcome to undertake any of the assignments or recommended activities in a private setting. The experiential learning, your individual response to the art making process and image making are yours to interpret yourself, so do not feel pressurised at all in having to create 'masterpieces'. Often, the more 'raw' the image is can prove more emotive and powerful. There is no right or wrong way of creating - just your way. So, make and take time for yourself. We hope you enjoy the course. This was an e.p.v course of the highest quality, with real meaningful links to school life, we were giving great resources that apply to all class levels. This course integrating art and mindfulness is the most worth while course I have completed in a long time. I felt the course content was very well balanced between presentation of material, meditations and creative art work. I enjoyed reading other participants comments on the forum and viewing their art work as well. I felt Nikki's feedback was very constructive and encouraging and gave me more ideas of how I can bring aspects of this course to my own teaching and also to my personal life. The I AM online course is excellent. The pace of the course complimented the content of the course beautifully. The blend of videos, activities and course work were perfect. Personally I feel rejuvenated and ready to enjoy my summer after a very busy June. On a professional level, my bank of I AM resources has been topped up and will be implemented with my Junior Infants class from September. I will be more mindful about adhering to the I AM course content next June, when school life tends to speed up. This is a fabulous course for teachers. The white light meditation has eased my neck/shoulder spasm and the daily meditation activities have set me up for a relaxing summer. It is great to get something for oneself from a summer course, as I strongly believe that we cannot possibly perform at our optimum level if we are not looking after our wellbeing. The I AM programme certainly addresses wellbeing and I will look forward to tackling the Wellbeing Policy document, whilst incorporating elements of he I AM programme. Thank you for a wonderful week!
